The expressive arts help us reignite our creative spirit and experience our lives in new ways. This highly experiential and fun class will appeal to anyone interested in the creative process and self-expression. You will spend these playful sessions using multiple modes of art-making: painting, visual arts, poetry writing, journaling, photography, music and movement. Known as intermodality, we are finding that magical place that connects all the modes of creativity. All the arts are members of one harmonic body—the more they cross-pollinate, the more vital they become. You will also learn more about the improv mindset, saying “YES, AND” to what may come forth in your creativity. The YES is the welcoming of your creative spirit. The AND is... "if this is true, what else is true?" There is no right or wrong way to do this, and no special skills or experience are necessary. Instead of judging what is good or bad, you will instead learn to trust in the process and explore what the artwork does and says to you. This course will appeal to those who are shy, extroverted, and anywhere in between. All are welcome!
