Acrylics: The Versatile Medium

« back to classes page
Acrylics are more versatile than any other medium. Thinned acrylics are transparent and behave like watercolors. Applied thickly with modifiers added, they resemble oils, but dry quickly and are easy to clean up. Colors can be exuberant, drying time immediate, which makes it easy to move on to the next step, layer up, or simply cover up mistakes. We will explore a wide range of techniques, explore the use of brushes, various tools and surfaces. Exploration of color help us to work on shapes in the form of fruit, and a final project of a simple landscape.

All materials must be provided by the student. Supplies will not be lent out in class by the instructor or other students.
