This Zoom-based beginning course in Italian (first course of four levels) will lay a good foundation for speaking with the natives in Italy, covering 40 of the most frequently used verbs, basic patterns (aka grammar), adjectives (Che bel cameriere! Che buon bambino!), vocabulary, and question-asking patterns, but always at the service of active conversation, centering on what you will need in Italy, and how to manage TIFU (The Italian in Front of You).
We will also cover historically-important Italian songs and singer-songwriters. A 160-page, printed Course Reader will be supplied by the instructor, designed for this course and also for self-study afterward.
The course will be conducted online via Zoom, so you can take the course anywhere; it is important to have access to a computer or tablet with video and audio capabilities in order to participate.
Enrollment is limited to 26 students.
The follow-up course, Italiano Due, will be offered in Fall 2022.
