ID : 8394
« back to classes page
For students who have taken levels Uno, Due, and Tre or the equivalent, you will find this brand new course challenging, useful, and…fun.! The vocabulary and conversation patterns, in Italiano, will help you discuss the topics below, and others, when you talk with Italians.

The 3-session course will be taught online via Zoom, so you can take it anywhere! The class will meet every two weeks, to give students ample time to prepare. Students should have a good grasp of basic Italian grammar, including the two past tenses, articles, and basic pronouns, etc. Knowledge of the subjunctive is not necessary. The instructor will treat any appropriate grammatical points students may wish to review. The future tense and the conditional mood will be introduced, both much used in Italian conversation

Each 2-hour class session will be devoted to a single topic:
  • Young people in Italy: What are the challenges they face?
  • Immigrants: how they are being changed and how they are changing Italy?
  • Italy’s tourism appeal: how has that success been good or bad?
The instructor will furnish background materials both in English & Italian, including a lengthy topic-specific glossary. Conversation on the topics will be in Italian.
