Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation, vital to supporting the body's incredible capacity to heal itself. Classified by the National Institute of Health as a form of complementary medicine, Reiki is currently being studied by the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, and Johns Hopkins in a medical and surgical setting. When stress is relieved, pain is reduced, less pain medication is needed, hospital stays are shorter, and healing is quicker.
As a form of meditation, which is considered by mainstream healthcare to be an evidence-based practice for healing trauma and stress, Reiki too engages the body's natural relaxation response which is foundational to dealing with pain, chronic illness, stress, anxiety, and depression. Reiki can be done anytime, anywhere, doesn't require any special equipment, and is one of the few modalities that can be practiced on oneself.
In this Zoom class, we will learn the history of Reiki and the basics of our non-physical anatomy. You will learn how to do a self-Reiki session, how to work on others, and other applications of Reiki. You will receive the Reiki 1 Attunement, study guide, and a certificate.
