"I've been studying Italian for XX years, and I still can't get it out of my mouth when I'm in Italy!"
This course, the last in a series of three, is designed to help with that—via Zoom a casa tua! Students will already have some familiarity with verbs, the present tense, and the past tense (passato prossimo). After review (!), we will now look at the "imperfetto" past tense, more adjectives, and pronouns. The grammar we will be using in class is not complicated or advanced, just applied. We will be concentrating more on the interactive patterns that Italians use in conversation, the vehicles that will enable you to "get the stuff out" and gain the upper hand with TIFU (The Italian in Front of You).
This will be a very "active participation" class; you will get plenty of oral practice through conversations with other students and role-playing with your instructor-waiter-cop-shopkeeper-vucumprà...
We'll look at proverbs, and we'll listen to 6 little-known Italian singer-songwriters to give you an interesting view of Italy.
Course fee includes instructor-supplied, printed 180-page self-teaching Course Reader.
