During challenging times, caring for our appearance can add much-needed enjoyment to our daily lives. Join us for a supportive weekly class that will help you discover new tools for expressing yourself visually. Authentic beauty develops when you connect your inner essence to your outward expression.
Each week's class discussion will focus on a different aspect of appearance, including color, makeup, silhouette, and wardrobe development. Learn how to determine your best family of reds for clothing and makeup, assessing what styles work best, and the key to developing your personal style. Looking your best while engaging virtually will also be discussed. Demonstrations, slides, hands-on activities, and group discussions will engage your imagination and help you to develop a creative focus for daily self-expression. Practical tools include creating a journal or "lookbook" with simple painting exercises and collaging of beauty imagery. No drawing or painting experience is needed; dipping a brush into paint is a simple way to relax, be with yourself, and connect with the artful, fluid aspect of appearance.
Course textbook: for this class is "Growing More Beautiful: An Artful Approach to Personal Style."
