This weekend drawing course will encourage you to record your observations and appreciate the marks you make with a variety of materials. By limiting our subject to a still life of fruits and vegetables the relationships of the objects and the spaces between them are easier to see. By drawing multiple versions and collaborating with others, we free ourselves to create. Bring your camera to record your drawings in process and to photograph the still life. The back and forth between the frozen moment in time with photographs and the living actual marks you make with a variety of materials is insightful. Monica Bryant is an educated artist, with art degrees from the University of Hawaii and UC Berkeley. She has taught drawing in Singapore, San Francisco and in Santa Rosa. She is a local mixed media artist using photography and painting together. Drawing is a process that is never really complete. All drawing leads us to see more and more and what we draw never catches up with what we see because we see more each time we draw! The record of our search on paper is valuable and often beautiful. It is always work the effort!
