Vitreous Enameling to Create Sterling Silver Jewelry

ID : 8014
« back to classes page
Imagine experiencing the creativity of working with beautiful vitreous (glass) enamel colors on fine silver to create a wonderful piece of art in precious metal that can be worn forever. We will build up several layers of transparent enamel colors and fire each layer in the kiln at 1450 degrees for 90 seconds. There is magic in the blending of colors created by this technique of layering transparent enamels. Students will leave class with either a finished set of enamel earrings, or a pendant, set in sterling silver.
Watch out, enameling can be very addictive! It is pure joy and fun to execute choices of texture, shape, design and color for your original design. It can put you in a wonderful "in the moment" state of tranquility.
