Learn the ancient art of mosaics, an art form both fun and functional that has many uses and can be applied to a wide range of surfaces. Our one-day class explores the entire world of mosaics, with examples, demonstrations, discussion, and hands-on application. We will be doing the direct method of mosaics: you will create a 12-inch square stepping-stone, ready for beautifying your garden.

You will select from 20 different designs that will be provided and transfer your design to your stone using a graphite pencil. Please do not bring your own design, since color range of tiles is limited, and you may not be able to transfer your design with what is provided. You will be using a hammer to break up tiles; all work in this class can be accomplished in this manner. But tile nips will be available to students who wish to use them. Students will have to lift stepping stones (approximate weight, 15 lbs.)

All materials included. All levels of artistic ability welcome. Additional info provided upon registration.
