Learn to play beautiful Jazz songs in this accessible course for intermediate guitarists. Class focuses on Jazz accompaniment technique and theory.

Topics include Jazz chord shapes; Jazz grooves and strumming; Jazz cadences; playing technique; rhythm training; theory of chord construction; chord function analysis; fretboard knowledge.

Classroom activities include playing; counting exercises; demonstration; explanation; dexterity enhancers.

Repertoire includes Jazz standards.

Instructor is patient, supportive, inclusive, clear, able to show complex moves in accessible bits, and to make theory concrete.

Pre-requisites: Please know how to play fourteen basic chords, and to change them on time. Please be willing to learn theory, as well as technique. Ability to play barre chords and read Guitar Tablature is very helpful, but not required. Course is suitable for nylon, acoustic steel, and electric guitar players. To every class, please bring a nylon or steel string acoustic guitar.
