Learn the ancient art of mosaics. A fun and functional art form that can be applied to many surfaces and has many varied uses. This one-day class explores all aspects of mosaics through examples, demonstrations, discussion and hands on application. We will be doing the direct method of mosaics. Students will create a 12-inch square stepping stone, ready for the garden.
Your step stone will be taken from over 20 different designs that will be provided, basic designs, copied and transferred using a graphite pencil to the stepping stone. Hammers are used to break up tiles. All work in this class can be accomplished in this manner.  Tile nips will be available to students who wish to use them. Students will have to lift stepping stones (approximate weight, 15 pounds) all materials included. All levels of artistic ability welcome. Additional info provided upon registration.
