Pastels with a twist! Chalk pastels, considered a form of painting, become truly painterly with this wet approach. The pastel color sticks glide and move like paint on the wet surface. Layers of pastels are applied, blocking in larger color areas first; as the paper dries, fine line details are then applied. After the painting has completely dried and sealed, the pastels show a vibrancy not found in many other painting medias, with an appearance similar to that of an oil painting.
