Flying a drone can be lots of fun; the pictures and video you get from 100’ high are amazing. But there’s more to flying a drone than getting one off the ground. Concerns, including Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) regulations, fly-away drones, overhead obstructions, nearby airports, privacy and safety must all be considered before taking off.
Introduction to Flying a Drone will introduce participants to these issues and others to help them make flying a drone a safer, more fun experience. Class topics include safety, creating a pre-flight checklist, what to do if you lose control of your drone, drone photography, autonomous flight modes, care and maintenance of drone batteries, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, certifications and documents, calibrating a drone, and GPS navigation.
