Do you wish you had more time to write? This six-week poetry workshop will give you the opportunity to explore the art of writing poetry, with a community of writers, in a fun, supportive atmosphere. Emphasis will be placed on the craft of writing poems in a diverse array of styles and forms with the investigation into literary techniques that will strengthen your work whether you are a new or experienced writer. Each session will include several in-class writing exercises - that will inspire you to free your imagination and write in new, exciting ways -  a brief lecture, and time to read poems aloud, as a class, by some of the most interesting and innovative poets of the 19th-21st centuries. The instructor, Mara Leigh Koslen, has an infectious love of writing and literature and is often amazed by the high quality of work produced in her classes. She will be available for feedback on your writing, upon request, and there will be time in each class to share your work if you so choose.
