Bitcoin may be the biggest technology since the internet to change our lives.  Bitcoin is built on blockchain technology, which is expected to disrupt the worldwide banking and financial system as much as the internet disrupted the media industry.  Bitcoin is the world's first decentralized digital currency and no central bank or single administrator exists.  You will learn about how bitcoin and the blockchain works, the history of bitcoin, how to purchase bitcoin online with a bank account, ways of storing bitcoin, and using bitcoin to purchase other cyrptocurrencies such as Ripple, Litecoin, and Ethereum.  Most people do not invest in Bitcoin because they don’t understand it.  Bitcoin’s price was 0.0001 USD when it was first released.  It rose to $15 in June 2011, $100 in June 2013, $220 in June 2015, and $2,420 in June 2017.  As of December 17, 2017, Bitcoin has gone as high as $19,500.  This introductory course will give you an understanding of this new technology that reinvents the concept of money.
