Growing Specialty Cut Flowers in the North Bay

Learn how to translate your love of growing flowers into a real farm or garden operation, and/or how to add flowers into your pre-existing farm or homestead. 
 
Days 1 and 2 will focus on growing methods for ten great varieties to grow in Sonoma County, and a slideshow of local farms. You’ll then review a helpful farm calendar and to-do list. We'll also look at how to develop crop plans, gain familiarity with flower variety selection, industry resources, and learn how to glean lots of helpful growing information from flower seed catalogues that are yours to keep, teaching you how to make a tailored crop schedule for your farm.We'll cover marketing and pricing, and finding the right sales avenues for your personality. 
 
Finally, day 3 will be a hands-on field day out at Shone Farm, learning the basics of everything from transplanting to irrigation to season extension.
