New Chords, Concepts, and Rhythms for Continuing-Beginning Guitarists

If you know a few chords and strumming patterns, this class will give you tools to play better and enlarge your repertoire. Learn to change chords faster; create lively grooves and beautiful textures; play riffs, fills, and ornaments; identify notes on the fretboard; play scales and melody lines; connect chords via walking bass lines; improve you tone; play new songs; and think like a musician.

Class topics include new chords; syncopated strumming patterns; techniques for faster chord changes; reading song charts, chord diagrams, and guitar tablature; finger picking; counting music; and a small dose of music theory.

Classroom activities include playing songs; rhythm training workouts; strumming calisthenics; finger dexterity exercises; demonstration; and discussion.

Instructor is experienced, patient, supportive, inclusive, and clear.

Repertoire includes popular classics and perennial favorites.

Pre-requisites: Please know how to tune your guitar, and to play at least three chords
