ID : 7178
« back to classes page
Some topics are best learned in a hands-on setting. In this field day at Shone Farm, we’ll dive in to cover a range of activities that occur on the farm in the spring. You’ll you’ll learn advanced field skills for growing cut flowers by watching the instructors and then sinking your hands into the soil a bit. You’ll learn how to repair irrigation problems, sow seeds to plant in the garden (and sow a tray of seeds to take home), take cuttings, and how to cultivate the soil without a tractor. The group will prepare a bed for planting from start to finish, learning how to amend soil, cultivate, transplant, and lay out irrigation. Whether you’ve taken our previous Cut Flowers class or you’re joining us now, this field day is great for any of you looking for an in-depth day on the farm.
