Science-Art: Intro to Pen and Ink

Focus on the art and science of birds, featuring selections from the SRJC zoology collection! We will study their unique features and adaptations. Practice pen and ink techniques using nib and felt pens, explore drawing using line, stipple, and crosshatching. Discussion of masterful examples and student work-time with one-on-one feedback.  Ages 15 to adult. Materials list. Additional info provided upon registration. 

 

Supply list: India ink black (Dr. Ph Martins); Sakura Pigma Micron pen, black size 01; Speedball Crow Quill dip pen holder #102; Speedball Crow Quill nib #102; kneaded eraser (Prismacolor, size medium); white eraser (Prismacolor Magic Rub); HB graphite pencil; Strathmore Drawing paper 300 series, smooth finish, (size your choice); pencil sharpener. *Note: if possible choose specified brands/sizes.
