In this class you will learn how the food you eat can affect your health in a healing way. This three session course will teach you the Eating for Health™ method developed by Dr. Ed Bauman of Bauman College, the names and importance of macro and micro nutrients in our food, how to reduce sugar cravings; what is a balanced plate of food and what are the correct portion sizes. We will learn about the importance of a healthy digestive system and the role of fiber in digestion, how to identify health and lifestyle choices that aid with insomnia and stress reduction and other conditions. Each class will include a cooking demonstration of a simple healthy dish that can boost your health. In each class we will break into small groups to do an easy exercise to demonstrate your new knowledge. Questions and conversations are encouraged throughout the class and there will be plenty of handouts provided. Hippocrates once said “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” This course will give you the tools to make the best lifestyle changes through the wonderful world of food.
