Thomas Church, acclaimed landscape architect, once said: Style is a matter of taste and Design is a matter of principles. Working towards an appealing landscape, one must have a working knowledge of the elements and design principles. The Art of Landscape Design; the Basic's course will illustrate how to combine the elements of art and science to create a functional and aesthetically pleasing landscape, following 8 Principles of Design. Learn how to utilize them into the landscape of your choice. Regardless of the size, areas ranging from 400 sq. ft. to 40 acres, utilize the same principles. In a small setting, they are even more important, as every square foot matters. Learn how to extend the indoors into the outdoor environment. Learn how to 'Borrow the View', create Outdoor Rooms, and create an extension of your existing space. Explore how plant textures and color, line and symmetry make an impact. Learn how simplicity is more elegant and serene than mismatched elements. You will understand the working knowledge and why one's landscape attracts your attention above another and what you can do to create a garden that speaks to you.
